So, back to today’s letter which is all about a very practical coaching tool which was shared with me when I hired my first business coach years ago!
As we’re heading towards the end of 2019 and into 2020 and I don’t know about you but I’m thinking about setting goals and intentions for 2020 so I thought I’d share this practical coaching tool so you can work out what you desire, what needs to change and what goals to set. So you can take that all important ACTION!
Drum roll please….. It’s the Wheel of Life and Business.
Now this is so simple and sometimes I think we forget that simple is often better, as we humans do like to over complicate things!
If you’re not familiar with the Wheel of Life or Business, then it’s a tool which helps you uncover what is working and what;s not so you can change it.
How To Create Your Wheel of Life and Business
To do this you create a circle and divide it into segments which will represent each area of your life. As you know gorgeous, I always like to go deep, so I create subsections too.
- Health – Mental, emotional, physical
- Relationships – Significant other, family, friends
- Home – Environment, transport
- Fun & Recreation – Interests, hobbies, creativity, mind, body, soul
- Money - Savings, Investments, fun funds
- Career/ Business
Then within each segment of the wheel you rate that area on a scale of 0 – 10. 10 being amazing and 0 being not great.
This method helps you to break areas of your life and business down so you don’t feel overwhelmed and it also supports you in understanding why you’re not happy or that area is not working for you.
I’ve started with life as business and work are only a part of your life and as I always say, your personal life will impact your work life.
If you’re physical health is poor it will be impacting how you show-up in your business, as maybe you’re not feeling confident enough to market yourself. If you’ve got limiting beliefs around your self-worth and money then that will be impacting sales and income in your business.
Here’s how I break it down for the wheel of business:
- Connecting
- Promoting
- Enrolling
- Serving clients
- Implementation
- Innovation
- Infrastructure
- Building Awareness
Once you’ve uncovered the areas which need improving or upgrading it’s about setting intentions and creating the next small step or the next two small steps (maximum) and creating motivation and momentum towards your happiness and success.
