I’m going to be honest with you here.
I really struggle with patience.
We joke that my husband deals with the patience side of our relationship while my focus is organisation and getting sh*t done. 💃
Now, I’m not a gamer but my hubby is and always has been.
He racks up hours, and I mean hours, playing computer games but I don’t mind it as I’ve always been independent and I think it’s one of the many reasons why we work apart from when he got obsessed with Minecraft it went a little too far that time. 😂
Those of you who know me, know I love to play Dungeons and Dragons and we were into it well before it became cool on Stranger Things.
It’s helped me so much with my confidence.
So the computer game version of Dungeons and Dragons dropped last Thursday and after 13 years of my husband trying to get me into computer games...I finally agreed to play with him.
Oh but the patience that’s required!
We both have different ways we want to play the game.
If things aren’t going well, he likes to reset the game so we can play better next time.
I like to go all in and play with no re-setting.
He likes to explore EVERY part of the game whereas I just want to focus on the main quest and go for it.
So needless to say, there’s been quite a bit of frustration and lack of patience in the Brand household this last week and so I thought I’d share with you a Hawaiian Forgiveness Prayer named Ho'oponopono if you too are struggling with patience this week.
It may even be a lack of patience with yourself as that’s what it ultimately comes down too.
🌸 I’m sorry I get so frustrated and impatient with <Insert Person, Thing Or Situation Here>.
🌸 Please forgive me for my agitation and annoyance with <Insert Person, Thing Or Situation Here>.
🌸 Thank you for highlighting where I need to bring more love, compassion, patience and understanding to <Insert Person, Thing Or Situation Here> as we’re all trying our best and it maybe we’re seeing things differently or have different opinions and that’s okay.
🌸 I love you <Insert Your Name Here> you’re so amazing and you know patience is a skill which we’re cultivating and nurturing and I’m so proud of how far we’ve come with it. Go us!
👉 Say the above prayer out loud in front of a mirror as your eyes are the window to your soul and just let it work its healing magic. ✨
Deep breathe, big smile, go within and centre yourself.
Choose love and compassion for yourself and then try again.
You got this. 💛
👉Tell me in the 👇comments 👇 where you need more patience as I'd love to know I'm not alone!
Love you, you beautiful work in progress piece of cosmic art. 🎨
